Hello and greetings from Romania!

I recently bought a 2007 Grand Vitara to use as daily car/week-end soft-roader.
One of the things it lacks is a proper underside protection. The skid plates I've found for sale here looks to my untrained eye as being too short, only covering the engine bay, gearbox and transfer box. I would think that proper skid plates would cover also the driveshaft, the rear diff and maybe even extend in way of the fuel tank. What's your experience with this subject? What kind of skid plates are available in Greece?

What kind of skid plates are available in Greece?

You can find all the info you need for the NGV 1.9 DDis skid plates , which is a thread showing the development the NGV skid plates project by some of our own guys! Unfortunately though, the section "What's hot", that contains the aforementioned thread, in not visible to newly registered users We will see if there is something to be done about that... The skid plates designed herein are being made by VETA S.A. (a company in Athens). You can read about VETA's offer for the club

My opinion is "too much iron for nothing". Of course if you are into deep offroading an armor-like skid plate for most of the under chasis part would be the best, but a non extra developed vehicle would become very heavy with all this!!
